At TAEKWONDOWAY our mission is to empower students with the the life skills of Taekwondo: Courtesy, perseverance, integrity, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Building these character traits through the rigors of Taekwondo training, students develop the confidence and responsibility needed to be leaders in their own lives and in their communities.
TAEKWONDOWAY is staffed with a professional team of Masters and Black Belt instructors who receive ongoing education and training each week. All of our instructors are passionate about teaching the sport, art, and life skills of Taekwondo!
Who We Are
When Master Hojun Ahn first opened TAEKWONDOWAY in 2010, his goal was to simply own and run a successful martial arts school. What he didn’t anticipate, was the incredible community of students, families, and instructors that has developed over the years. Their shared passion for Taekwondo, and commitment to service and helping others, creates a respectful and welcoming environment. This Taekwondo community fuels our dedication to helping each and every student attain their goals, and keeps inspiring us to provide the highest quality classes, camps, tournaments, and events!

Cheif Master Hojun Ahn is a gifted teacher and positive role model with over 30 years experience in Taekwondo. His passion for Taekwondo and the work ethic he developed from training, earned him a scholarship to one of the most prestigious Martial Arts Universities in the world, and entrance into one of South Korea’s most elite military branches, the Headquarters of Intelligence Detachment. Master Ahn was the first person in his family to graduate from college and is fulfilling his dreams now by sharing the spirit of Taekwondo with his students and staff.
Now with an association of three TAEKWONDOWAY studios we continue to build our community and schools stronger. As a network of three, it expands our ability to offer more tournaments, seminars, and camps, to the benefit of our students and their training. It also gives us the ability to have greater reach in our community. We run multiple fundraisers for PTA’s and charities each year, and volunteer in our local elementary schools.
Each of our Master Instructors have trained at our headquarter school in Mukilteo, are certified by World Taekwondo in South Korea, and holds a B.A. in Physical Education and Taekwondo. All of our Masters, Black Belt Instructors, and support staff meet weekly for further development, discussion, and education.
